Toyo filed unfair trade complain to U.S. Trade Commission

Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc. and its affiliates ) announced today that it filed a formal complaint before the United States International Trade Commission ("ITC") against twenty-two manufacturers, importers, and sellers of passenger and light truck tires (collectively, the "Respondents").
In the complaint, Toyo alleges that Respondents have engaged in unfair trade practices by importing into and/or selling within the United States, tires that infringe eight U.S. design patents held by Toyo.
Toyo, which markets and sells tires under the "Toyo Tires" and "Nitto" brands, has over the years developed and introduced passenger and light truck tires with designs that are both innovative and unique. Toyo is taking this step to protect the company, its customers and associates from unfair competition by enforcing its intellectual property rights.
Toyo requests that the ITC issue exclusion orders that would bar from entry into the United States infringing tires that are imported by or on behalf of Respondents. Toyo also seeks appropriate cease-and-desist orders prohibiting certain activities, including the domestic sale of infringing products that have already been imported.
